Home visits or clinic visits available.

Breastfeeding education and working within a family partnership model to enhance individual’s breastfeeding experience.

Sessions can be up to 2 hrs and include follow up phone calls, email and management plan.

Private Health Fund rebates may apply please enquire with your health fund.

Online consultations available on request.

During a postnatal consultation we can:

• Identify and explore your issues to meet a desired goal/s.
• Devise a management plan in consultation with you and a copy can be emailed to you.
• Assess your baby, your breasts and the breastfeed: baby cues, tongue tie, prematurity, damaged or flat nipples, nipple shields, low supply, low weight gain, over supply, multiples and so on and strategies to manage such.
• Give evidence based education with regards to the breastfeeding.
• Discuss baby led cues for self-attachment, milk transference, suck/swallow ratio and normal baby development.
• Education with expressing, using a hand/electric pump to best suit your needs.
• Settling and sleep education can also be offered.
• Follow up phone calls usually 2-3 days after the consultation.

Antenatal Breastfeeding Services

• Anatomy and physiology of the breasts (during pregnancy and post-natal).
• Breast feeding positions and attachment.
• How to express your breasts, the benefits of this and how to store breast milk.
• Commonly occurring breastfeeding problems and where to seek help i.e community supports available to new parents.
• Normal baby behaviours and frequency and length of feedings.
• Baby cues that tell you your baby is getting enough.
• Newborn average weight gain.
• Tackling issues such as breastfeeding after breast surgery and what this means for you, if applicable.

Fees for Consultation

A short phone call is free to arrange for a consultation and to assess your needs.

For the cost of consultation in either your home, or the clinic, please enquire.

It can also be arranged to do a follow up consultation at a reduced rate.

Skype consultations can also be arranged.

At the end of your visit, you will be equipped with a personalised plan and the knowledge to give you the best possible breastfeeding success.

A follow up phone call, SMS or email is encouraged to ensure that things are going to plan.
